Plant Sale Opens Today!
The annual Sustainable Horticulture Spring Plant Sale opens TODAY at 9am at the campus farmstand! The Plant Sale will be open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, AND Sunday, Mother’s Day, from 9am-2pm! Come by for the best seedlings around for your gardens, advice on growing from our student farmers, and support our program, even just with your presence!
If you’re interested in some of the numbers behind the planning and execution of the spring plant sale, this spring our 63 students…
– Seeded 51,500 seeds of 161 different crops and varieties
– Transplanted 9,258 seedlings
– Shoveled 415 scoops of soil for our plants to grow in
– Printed 2,330 tags for plants going to sale
– Designed and grew out 120 hanging baskets of 4 different plant varieties
– Watered & managed 4800 square feet of greenhouse growing space
– Collaborated with 2 other shops to get their nursery plants up for sale (shoutout Matt and Taylor!)
…And hauled all of it up to the farmstand yesterday!
